Living With Memory Loss Support Group

Meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at Highland Hills Village, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart. Each meeting will include a reflection, a short presentation by a clinical resource person, and ample time for participants to talk. Facilitators will guide discussions to create a safe, open atmosphere in which participants can express their concerns and ask questions in a supportive environment. Programs in the monthly series will be open to everyone but will be geared especially to the needs of family members most directly responsible for the health and safety of loved ones with memory loss. Toddle Time

Weekly group offers a great time for toddlers to have fun together. We provide toys and activities. Great opportunity for moms to connect with other moms and for second-time moms to feed and weigh their newborns while their toddlers play. Group meets every Thursday from 10:30am - 12:00pm at St. Mary's Hospital, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens, GA.

Bundles of Joy

This support group offers mothers a chance to learn from each other, weigh their babies before and after breastfeeding, and monitor the baby's advancement from week to week. Coordinator: Laura Crowe, BSHP, IBCLC. Mondays, 1:00-3:00pm. St. Mary's Hospital, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens. Free.

Diabetes Support Group

St. Mary's Diabetes Support Group provides information and emotional support for people with diabetes and their caregivers. The Support Group is free and meets the first Tuesday of every month from 3-4:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital. Parking vouchers are provided for participants. Stroke Support Group

St. Mary's Stroke Support Group provides information from experts and laypeople for stroke survivors, family members and care-givers. Meetings begin with coffee and light refreshments, followed by a speaker or other presentation. Free, but registration is requested. Lunch is provided free of charge. The group meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 11:30am at St. Mary's Hospital.

NICU Family Monthly Support Group

Meetings led by two former NICU moms. Support Group is time for current or past NICU moms to come together and share struggles, hugs, and triumphs. For more information, visit their facebook page at Ruby Bridges Ministry or see your NICU nurse. Next meeting will be Friday, March 10, from 12:30-2pm in Lobby Conference Room of St. Mary's Hospital.

Better Breathers Club

St. Mary's Heath Care System is launching a partnership with the American Lung Association of Georgia to bring the Better Breathers Club to St. Mary's in Athens. The Better Breathers Club has helped those with chronic lung conditions such as COPD, asthma and other chronic lung diseases for nearly 30 years. A trained facilitator will lead each session to provide support and information for those who suffer from chronic lung diseases and their caregivers. The goal of the club is to empower those suffering from chronic lung conditions by teaching them better coping mechanisms. The club addresses a variety of topics including exercise, how COPD affects the lungs, breathing techniques, air pollution and more. Meetings will be held at St. Mary's Hospital, 1230 Baxter St., Athens, on the third Thursday of every month at 11a.m. Meetings are free, will last one hour, and will provide support, education and social connection for those with lung disease and their family members and caregivers For more information, please call 706-389-3227.
