St. Mary’s offers a competitive and attractive package of benefits for its employees, including:

Group Health Insurance

Your choice of PPO or HMO coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. Employee and dependent coverage available. Co-pays are waived under certain circumstances for members who use St. Mary’s facilities and services.

Basic Life Insurance

Coverage equal to the employee’s annual salary through Prudential, provided at no cost to the employee.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Low group rates for employees and dependents through Prudential.

Dental Insurance

Your choice of two plans, Standard or Premier, through Metlife Dental. Affordable group rates.

Vision Insurance

Provides discount coverage through Avesis.

Long Term Disability

Provides 60% of your income in case of disability through Cigna Insurance Co.

Savings Plus Retirement Plan

Tax-sheltered annuity plan through Lincoln. Set aside a percentage of your income with a wide range of investment opportunities and risk levels. St. Mary’s matches 75% of your contributions, up to 6% of your annual salary.

Retirement Plan

Hospital-provided benefit plan in which St. Mary’s will contribute an annual core contribution based on years of service and hours worked. Employees may be eligible to vest in the plan after 3 years of service.

Personal Annual Leave (PAL)

Time off with pay for vacations, holidays, personal illnesses or injuries and other personal and family needs. PAL time begins accumulating after four pay periods of employment, with new fulltime employees earning 7.08 hours per pay period (PT employees start earning 3.08 hours per pay period). Tenured employees earn more, based on years of service. Unused PAL hours carry over from year to year.

Holidays

Six recognized holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. PAL time can be used for other holidays. Time and a half paid if required to work on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Day.

Free Health Screenings

Mandatory TB skin test and urinalysis, with optional full laboratory blood and urine profile, chest x-ray and, for employees over 40, EKG.

Tuition Reimbursement:

Assistance in payment for work-related courses. Current reimbursement is $5,000 over employment lifetime with St. Mary's. Reimbursed after term ends, when grades are provided to HR.
