Yoga from a Christian Prospective
Class meets Tuesdays from 9:30-10:45 am. Yoga makes us aware of the internal workings of the body and mind and keeps us connected to our breath and brings us to our center. The center of our being is the truest and best part of who we are. It is the eternal part. This is the place from which we want to live, and yoga helps us return to that place. By bringing our awareness back to our center, we can then move forward with the confidence and peace that comes only from Him. Is Yoga from a Christian Perspective right for you? If you have always wanted to try yoga but were concerned about feeling uncomfortable because of Yoga’s roots – then this is the class for you. 11/20/08ICD Supprt Group
St. Mary’s and Athens Cardiac Arrhythmia Center launched a new support group on Oct. 25 for people who have received ICDs – implantable cardioverter de-fibrillators. Fifteen patients and family members came to the inaugural meeting, which was led by Moe Bishara, MD, Director of Athens Cardiac Arrhythmia Center and the Electrophysiology Department at St. Mary’s. The group gives ICD recipients a chance to hear from an expert in an area related to their ICD, heart failure or other important topics, ask questions, share stories, and build connections with others who have similar conditions. The group meets quarterly and will hold its next meeting on May 29. For more information, call ACAC’s Jamie Williams at ext. 7800.
