If you have a cardiovascular condition – including heart disease, stroke or diabetes – lifestyle education is essential to enjoying a good quality of life and preventing complications.
St. Mary’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has teamed up with Diabetes Education, Nutrition and Food Services and Pharmacy to bring you a monthly class providing the basic information you need to know.
From 1-2 p.m., Certified Diabetes Educator Beth Melvin provides an overview of diabetes, how it affects you and what you can do about it.
From 2-3 p.m., Registered Dietitian Kim Hunter provides vital information about how to eat better for a healthier heart.
From 3-4 p.m., Pharmacist Robbin St. John answers your questions about medications.
From 4-5 p.m., Respiratory Therapist Todd Drake discusses Early Heart Attack Care and Smoking Cessation.
St. Mary’s Healthy Heart Living classes are free and open to anyone, especially those with a cardiac diagnosis or who have survived a cardiac event. You can attend one, two or all three sessions. For more information, call 706.389.2915.
